To complete the No Fly Zone, your horse should be on a feed-through fly control product such as SimpliFly® from Farnam. The active ingredients work in the horse’s manure, not the horse’s body itself. Instead of being absorbed from the horse’s gastrointestinal tract, they are mixed into the horse’s manure, so that when it passes out of the horse, insect growth regulators in the product prevent the development of house and stable fly larvae laid in that manure. This interrupts the fly life cycle, limiting the current fly population. Follow label directions and continue using daily through fly season and past the first frost in the fall.
Psst. Flies don't want you to read this. Which is exactly why you should. You need to know what you're up against. Stable and house flies are among the most common flying pests found in horse environments, but there are a few interesting differences between them.
Gives you a jump-start on fly control. When added to your horse’s feed continuously, it prevents the development of house and stable flies in manure. This breaks the fly life cycle by preventing larvae from developing into mature adults, resulting in a reduced fly population. Start using SimpliFly® fly control early in the spring and continue throughout the summer until cold weather restricts fly activity.
